How to Install Facebook Lead and Purchase Pixels

Facebook provides you with two different types of pixels. Custom Conversion Pixels and Standard Conversion Pixels. To get the best results from FunnelDash we recommend using the standard lead pixel.

Custom conversions are based off a URL with a custom value amount. Facebook has an excellent support doc on custom conversion pixels if you would like to learn more.

Standard conversion pixels are based off Facebook’s standard javascript. You can learn more about the standard conversion pixel here.

This is what it looks like when you have it installed on your page.  For more information how to setup and use the Facebook Pixel check out this help doc.   http://help.funneldash.com/resources-facebook-and-swipe-files/facebook-pixel/how-to-setup-and-use-the-facebook-pixel

  1. Your website's original code: Paste the Facebook pixel code between the <head>and </head> tags of your web page. You may already have other existing code between the head tags, so just place the pixel code underneath that, but above </head>.
  2. Your Facebook pixel base code: Your Facebook pixel code will look like the diagram above, except your pixel ID will be different from 1234567890.
  3. Your standard event code: Within your Facebook pixel code, above the </script>tag, paste the standard event code that's relevant to your page, such as the Add To Cart code. You'll need to do this for every page you want to track.

How It Works

To see both lead events and purchase events in FunnelDash place your lead and purchase pixels on their respective thank you pages.

You'll need a dedicated thank you page for each order form with the conversion value if you're using Infusionsoft, ONTRAPORT, or Stripe & Active Campaign.

SamCart & Shopify thank you pages have a order value merge field that can be used to update the value field in the FB conversion pixel.

Adding Revenue To Your Purchase Pixels

Below is an example of a standard lead pixel, bolded is the value: ‘0.00” which you will change to equal the value of your product/service.

<!-- Facebook Pixel Code →

<script>
!function(f,b,e,v,n,t,s){if(f.fbq)return;n=f.fbq=function(){n.callMethod?n.callMethod.apply(n,arguments):n.queue.push(arguments)};if(!f._fbq)f._fbq=n;n.push=n;n.loaded=!0;n.version='2.0';n.queue=[];t=b.createElement(e);t.async=!0;t.src=v;s=b.getElementsByTagName(e)[0];s.parentNode.insertBefore(t,s)}(window,document,'script','https://connect.facebook.net/en_US/fbevents.js');fbq('init', Your ID here'); // Insert your pixel ID here.
fbq('track', 'PageView');
fbq('track', 'Purchase', {value: '0.00', currency: 'USD'});
</script>

<noscript><img height="1" width="1" style="display:none"src="https://www.facebook.com/tr?id=YourIdHere&ev=PageView&noscript=1"/></noscript>

<!-- DO NOT MODIFY → <!-- End Facebook Pixel Code -->

Note: Facebook will provide you with your own standard or custom conversion pixel. Do not copy the pixel above.
